  • Day 01: Fly Nepalgunj via Kathmandu.
  • Day 02: Take a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal. Then, trek until to Dunai that will take approximately four hours.

Itineraries

Day 1

Fly Nepalgunj via Kathmandu.

Catch a flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu. Rest and overnight stay at a hotel in Nepalgunj with BB Plan.

Day 2

Take a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal. Then, trek until to Dunai that will take approximately four hours.

After an early breakfast, catch a flight to Juphal. After taking some rest, we set out for Dunai, the administrative center of this region. Trekking from Juphal to Dunai takes about 4 hours.

Day 3

Trek to Tarakot. A check-post awaits you where official documents need to be shown. Trek for another 6hours.

After taking rest and having breakfast, we set out early for Tarakot. A check-post awaits you where official documents need to be shown. Another six hours of trekking and we stop over for dinner. After dinner, rest and sleep at one of the teahouses.

Day 4

Trek to Tarap Khola.

Following the trekking guide via the fortress village of Tarakot, you reach Tarap Khola. Overnight stay at Tarap Khola.

Day 5

Trek to Bivo Cellars (3,500m).

Trek to Bivo Cellars (3500 meters). Take a break for lunch followed by more trekking. Stop over for Dinner and much needed sleep.

Day 6

Trek to Dho Tarap (4,200m).

After an early breakfast, trek to Dho Tarap (4200 meters). The Tarap Valley is a scenic area of barley fields, dispersed settlements and various Buddhist monasteries. You will notice that the inhabitants of the reputed Khampa ancestries of Dolpopa region are apparent in their red yarn, which are famously worn by men on their hair whereas the women exhibit an ornate headgear. Overnight stay at Dho Tarap.

Day 7

At Dho Tarap, visit the Buddhist monasteries.

Following an early breakfast, visit the beautiful Buddhist monasteries in Dho Tarap. The rest of the day is free for other activities in this area.

Day 8

Trek to Dho-Takse (Numla Phedi).

Trek to Dho Takse, which will take several hours. After each point we stop over for lunch followed by recreational break so that we can camp and get a good nights sleep at the end of the day.

Day 9

Take the Numla Pass/ Camp of Baga.

From the camp area, valleys cross the Numla Pass (5150 meters) and the Baga La (5190 meters), famously immortalized in the beautiful movie “Himalaya”.

Day 10

Baga -Bakhra Kharka.

Take the Baga route and trek towards Bakhra Kharka. Stop over for lunch and after reaching our point of destination, have dinner and rest for the next day.

Day 11

Bakhra Kharka-Ringmo.

Trek from Bakhra Kharka to another campsite called Ringmo.

Day 12

Visit Lake Phoksumdo.

After an early breakfast, we arrive at the exceptionally picturesque Phoksumdo Lake- an unearthly turquoise lake ringed by rocky crags and forest framed by snow-capped peaks.

Day 13

Experience the Buddhist traditions and cultural encounters in Ringmo village.

Visit Ringmo village, a pleasant community with chorten, Tibetan Mani walls, Bon monastery and an entry chorten depicting complex mandalas of both Buddhist and Bon traditions.

Day 14

Trek to Raktang.

Trek to Raktang, which will take around 5 hours of walking.

Day 15

Rest at Juphal.

Overnight stay at Juphal since we need to catch a flight the following next day, early in the morning.

Day 16

Catch a flight from Juphal/ Nepalgunj/ Kathmandu.

Catch an early morning flight to Nepalgunj followed by an onward connection to Kathmandu.
